Buddy Freckles Finds Relief With NHV Hearty Heart

Thank you Jessica for sharing this heartwarming tale about Mr. Buddy Freckles. He makes us smile too 🙂

This is my beloved Buddy Freckles. He’s a 15 yr old basset hound. He became a member of our family 13 yrs ago when he was adopted from a rescue. Like every good basset, Buddy’s favorite things are eating, napping & following his nose! He has a very funny personality & always makes me smile.

I can’t even tell you how incredible this stuff works. My dog was diagnosed with a heart murmur a few years ago and because of his age,
they told me he wouldn’t live long. Well, it’s been 2 years since his diagnosis & he’s still going strong but I could tell he was starting to feel the effects. His cough was getting worse, he was increasingly uncomfortable at night & pacing, breathing heavily especially after getting up or with a little bit of activity. It hurt me to see him that way & I didn’t want to take him to the vet where they would tell me it’s time to let him go. So I found this stuff, read the reviews & it is EVERYTHING everyone says it is. My sweet oldie is not struggling to breathe anymore, he doesn’t pace at night & the cough is nearly gone. Not to mention he has perked up & is so much more alert. This amazing stuff gave me my dog back & I hope to have more good years with the best dog on this planet! Thank you!!!!

What is a Heart Murmur in Dogs?

A heart murmur is when extra vibrations are produced due to turbulent blood flow or because of vibrations of the heart structure, such as part of a valve. Your veterinarian may grade the murmur based on how loud it is.

  • Grade 1 is barely audible.
  • Grade 2 is soft, although it can be still be easily heard with a stethoscope.
  • Grade 3 has intermediate loudness.
  • Grade 4 is a loud murmur that radiates widely throughout the body.
  • Grade 5  is a very loud murmur, which can be heard with the stethoscope barely touching the chest. It may also be strong enough to be felt through the dog’s chest wall.
  • Grade 6 – has the same characteristics as grade 5, but is even louder.

Some heart murmurs in dogs can be brought on by other underlying conditions, such as hyperthyroidism, heartworm disease, or anemia.

What Are the Symptoms?

Symptoms of a heart murmur in dogs are similar to other heart conditions. These include:

  • Coughing
  • Exercise intolerance
  • Pacing before bedtime or having a hard time settling down
  • A swollen belly (from fluid buildup in the lungs and other organs)
  • Collapsing because of blocked blood flow to the brain
  • Change in color of tongue or gum color to bluish grey due to poor oxygen flow.
  • Weight loss.

What are the Treatment Options for Heart Murmurs in Dogs

It’s important to remember that not all heart murmurs indicate a heart disorder.

Your veterinarian will check for heart failure. It’s important to remember that not all heart murmurs indicate a heart disorder. Based on the clinical signs your veterinarian may recommend prescription medications. In conjunction with any western medications, it is important to be sure to feed them a quality diet that helps maintain optimal weight. Obesity and severe weight loss can adversely affect the heart. You may also want to supplement their health with all-natural herbal supplements, like NHV Hearty Heart.

In addition to NHV Hearty Heart, we also recommend using the NHV Turmeric and NHV PetOmega 3. Turmeric is a super herb that helps support the heart and circulatory function as well as provide overall general well-being. The PetOmega 3 will provide needed omega 3 fish oils, which are recommended by vets for pets with cardiovascular issues.
