Helping Clover the Senior Dachshund with Bladder infections

Helping Clover the Senior Dachshund with Bladder infections

As our cats and dogs age, one of the conditions they could be prone to is bladder infections. This can be both uncomfortable and unpleasant for our little ones. Some common symptoms are straining to urinate, urinating frequently, blood in the urine, or having ‘accidents’ in the house.

While any breed (male or female) is at risk of developing urinary tract infection, smaller breed dogs (such as Miniature Daschunds) are particularly susceptible to some of the underlying causes of infection.

Clover is a long-haired mini senior dachshund who was pulled out of a kill shelter about 4 months ago by her rescue mom, Amber. She is a sweet and loving spirit – and instantly became a loving companion and late-night snuggle buddy.

This senior dachshund is also on Milk Thistle for extra kidney support

Clover started a regimen of NHV Tripsy, to help ease the uncomfortable symptoms of her condition. Tripsy is a soothing formula that controls infection, has a demulcent effect for urinary calculi, and supports the health of kidneys and bladder. Kidney stones are normally part and parcel of kidney disease and kidney disorders. Tripsy will help break up kidney and bladder stones so they don’t become problematic and can be flushed from the urinary tract.

This senior dachshund is also on Milk Thistle for extra kidney support. Milk Thistle acts as a detoxifier for the blood and the vital organs, especially the liver and kidneys. It improves the function and regeneration of the liver and kidneys especially when they have been overworked by medication or disease.

Feb Update:

I’ve been using Tripsy on my 16-year-old senior dachshund who has bladder infections. This product has definitely helped her keep the infection from returning.

We were so happy to hear this update in March….

Her blood test results came back as good for kidneys but she has had blood in her urine.  I’ve been giving her Tripsy along with some other supplements and so far the blood in her urine has stopped. I will keep her on Tripsy to help with her bladder and as a preventative for any kidney issues as she ages.

This little miss has stolen our hearts, the same way she stole her rescue mom. We wish Clover, the Senior Dachshund, all of the love, comfort, and warmth that she so rightfully deserves having been rescued as a senior dog. It’s rightly said, when you adopt a senior dog or a senior cat, you’re not only welcoming a lifetime of love into your home, you’re also saving a precious life.
