Living a healthy life with Feline Leukemia – Kitten Hunter Ray’s happy tail

Feline Leukemia (FeLV) is a viral infection that commonly causes anemia or lymphoma in cats. It attacks the immune system which can predispose cats to other health disorders, such as cancer, immune disorders, anemia, and blood disorders.

Although risky, the feline leukemia virus doesn’t have to be a death sentence for kittens, as most can fight the virus and any infection. With the right support, cats with feline leukemia can have a lifespan similar to a healthy cat.

In this happy tale, kitty mom Stephanie shares the story of her little kitten Hunter Ray, who is currently fighting feline leukemia. Hunter Ray was dumped when he was only six weeks old and almost lost his right eye due to the nasty infection. Thankfully, he found love and a second chance at life with Stephanie.

As a 6-month-old kitten, Hunter Ray developed a big lump on his little leg that had to be removed. Hunter tested positive for feline leukemia, and his lifespan was in question. At that time, his mom got in touch with us at NHV. Because his treatment was getting so expensive and complicated (with the bad eye, and the surgery, and of course, the medicines needed to fight the lurking infections) she was almost out of funds. She didn’t know what to do and how to get Hunter Ray the NHV blends he needed.

She participated in one of our giveaways (#NHVHalloweendancepawty contest), and Hunter Ray’s luck worked a second time. He won 1 free NHV supplement! His mom bought for him a second one he needed, and soon Hunter Ray started his regimen of the two essential supplements for him at that point – NHV Felimm and NHV ES Clear!

Soon came a happy update! Here’s what Hunter Ray shared on Instagram in November 2018:

I’ve got some wonderful news to share! Meow lump that Alisa took out and sent off was NOOOOOT cancer! It was a reaction to a vaccine! The lab said if meow Mom and Dad didn’t notice it and/or let it go then 99.99% it would’ve turned malignant. Since it was caught so early and removed almost immediately, everything is ok!! Also, the wonderful @nhvnaturalpet hosted a giveaway last month, and I won! I got the ES Clear and Mom got me the Felimm supplements to help me fight off this Feline Leukemia hopefully. Since I’ve been taking meow supplements, meow eyes have almost entirely stopped watering, and meow sneezing has almost completely stopped, too. Pawsies crossed we can have even more wonderful news to share in the future. Thank you @nhvnaturalpet for being SO incredibly helpful with meow scattered-brained Mom and picking me as the winner for your giveaway♥️

A more recent update came from Hunter Ray’s mom in January 2019:

The day I brought Hunter Ray home, he was in terrible shape. After all his eye drop medicines and lots of antibiotics, his little eye was saved. However, it was often watering, and I had to clean his eyes numerous times a day. Since he’s tested positive for Feline Leukemia, our vet said that he might have to be on eye drops for the rest of his life. Since he’s been on the ES Clear and Felimm, his sneezing and runny nose have stopped. His eyes need to be cleaned like a healthy kitty now. AND, he’s not had anymore lumps come upon his body like we had to have removed in November.  He’s doing very well. Still giving him his supplements twice a day and they’ve helped immensely with his Leukemia Symptoms! I will need to order more soon.

It’s incredible to see the progress little Hunter Ray has made, and our team is delighted to be a part of his health journey as a kitten growing as a fearless cat with feline leukemia and with an improved lifespan.

Which supplements helped Hunter Ray cope?

Felimm for cats

NHV Felimm is a natural herbal remedy that helps fight feline leukemia, FIV virus in cats, and other viral infections in cats:

ES-Clear for cats

Es-Clear is a natural cat cancer support. It helps manage the symptoms of feline cancer and works as a preventative:

We have also recommended that Stephanie try using EY-Eas herbal eye drops if Hunter Ray starts having watery eyes again. As time progresses, we will make tweaks to this little tiger’s regimen. While Felimm should be continued long-term for FeLV kitties, NHV ES Clear may not be needed in the future. We will do what we can to keep this little cat purring.
