Why Spook the cat takes his NHV Mellit before his meals

Why Spook the cat takes his NHV Mellit before his meals

Spook, a lovable cat from Belgium was diagnosed with early signs of kidney disease and diabetes. He was prescribed insulin right away. It took a few weeks for him to adjust to the insulin doses. His cat mom was really concerned about his kidneys and was also looking for natural support for his health condition. Something that could work with insulin. We recommended Mellit and Tripsy.

Why Mellit?

NHV Mellit is a herbal formula that helps control blood sugar levels and strengthens and protects other organs from the serious imbalances that are triggered throughout the body due to diabetes. It works in conjunction with insulin and some cats have been able to eventually wean off the insulin and maintain health with just NHV Mellit in the long run.

NHV Mellit is best taken 20 minutes before the main meal. This prepares the body for the food that it is about to receive and breaks it down in a healthy way. It also helps create some time gap between the insulin dose and the NHV doses (since the insulin dose is always given at the time of food)

If your cat or dog is taking other supplements along with Mellit then you can give them all together in this smaller portion or pre-meal snack.

Why Tripsy?

Most cats will develop kidney problems at middle age or senior age. NHV Tripsy supports the kidneys, urinary tract, and bladder. It helps reduce infection in that area and timely inclusion of NHV Tripsy in a cat’s diet can help prevent kidney disease from aggravating.

Spook the cat has just started his doses and it can take time for the herbs to show their full effect. But a month of consistent doses and we are already getting happy updates! His mom has also been making for him some healthy bone broth (Recipe by Dr. Amanda) as a small snack to give with the supplements.

We went to the vet again, to get his blood sugar checked. He is doing great (drinking less, lost weight, almost no more vomiting; and still loving his NHV blends) but he needs to up the insulin from 1.5 to 2 units twice a day. We are hopeful we almost reached a stable level now. We’ll know in two weeks’ time.

Little Dude’s Dad was amazed at how good and healthy Spook looks. Especially his shiny fur that used to be a tad greasy and rather dull. The weight loss will also make a big difference in his blood sugar and kidney values – but I have no doubt the blends are doing their mojo. He just hates the wait between blends and actual dinner.

I will keep you updated! I’m just so thrilled he is doing so well he really was very poorly from last year on, it’s a big change!

He is so playful ever since he’s on both insulin and Mellit & Tripsy blends!

We are excited to see how Spook does in a few more months. We are staying close to make any tweaks in his doses. The NHV Team sends lots of good vibes and prayers his way.
